Project Overview

SparkPark is a smart parking management system designed to streamline real time tracking of parking spots and devices. It features a Nodejs backend and an Angular frontend ensuring seamless integration for parking operators. The system leverages AWS Cognito for authentication and DynamoDB for scalable data storage. With built in analytics it provides valuable insights into parking utilization idle time and battery voltage.

Challenges

The project faced several challenges in managing users real time tracking and spot management. User management required implementing different access levels allowing admins to manage users and operators operators to monitor parking devices and receive alerts and read only admins to view data without making changes. Ensuring real time tracking of parking spots and scooters with instant status updates such as IN OUT for parked vehicles was critical for accurate monitoring. Additionally setting up webhooks for automated event tracking posed a challenge in ensuring seamless data flow. Spot management also presented complexities as it involved filtering spots based on location battery level and status allowing admins to update locations manually and enabling operators to track their assigned spots efficiently. Overcoming these challenges was crucial to ensuring smooth operations and accurate data management.

Solution

To address these challenges a robust user management system was implemented with role based access control allowing admins to manage users and operators operators to track parking devices and receive alerts and read only admins to view data without modifications. For real time tracking a system was designed to provide live monitoring of parking spots and scooters with instant status updates ensuring accurate tracking of parked vehicles. Additionally webhooks were set up to automate event tracking ensuring seamless data updates. For spot management features were developed to enable filtering spots by location battery level and status allowing admins to manually update locations and operators to efficiently track their assigned spots. This solution ensured smooth operations real time data accuracy and efficient spot management.

The Result
